Types of randomness:

• Binary: Yes or no
• Discrete: finite amount of possibilities
• Continuous: outcome could be basically anything

Counting

When there is a finite number of outcomes, each of which is equally likely, we can just count the number of outcomes that fulfill the criteria divided by all possible outcomes

P(Criteria Fulfilled) = (# of outcomes that fulfill criteria) / (total number of possible outcomes)

Take for instance a dice roll

• P(roll is 1) = 1/6
• P(roll is prime) = 3/6
• P(2 dice rolls, sum is 7)
